Today has been a very tattoo themed day for me.

This morning I went to a tattoo shop in amsterdam to talk about a tattoo I've been wanting to get. After that I listened to 'Blasted' by Frank Ocean in the train. And when I got home I discovered H&M is releasing a new collection soon: the Dragan Tattoo Collection. And I must say, it looks absolutely awesome. I really can not wait until it's here.

My sister and I went to the movies last night and had a total blast watching Crazy, Stupid, Love. If you haven't seen it yet, you really should! I absolutely loved it, despite Steve Carell, who('s movies) I usually don't like too much.

The movie was funny, interesting and unpredictable, a rare feature in most movies nowadays if you ask me.

Ever since I got back from Lisbon I've been really busy with university!

I've had classes for two weeks now and I'm loving almost every minute of it!

The only downside is the amount of homework, it was a bit of a shock to the system really.

But the great people I have met have surely made up for that!:)

I came home a couple of days earlier from my vacation because the weather in France wasn't that good unfortunately:(

So, it's high time for some pictures of the trip!

In the collages there are pictures of Paris, Versailles, château de Chambord, (within) the Louvre, within the centre de Pompidou and other moments during the trip which I thought deserved immortalising.
I think my favourite moment in the two weeks was visiting the centre de Pompidou. I absolutely loved seeing the works of Warhol, Balla, Kupka, Mondriaan, Kandinsky and many many others.

On the 26th of June a few friends and I went to Parkpop( a huge free festival in the Hague). It was pretty much my first time I went to any kind or real musicfestival and I really enjoyed myself. I don't know if I'll be going to a lot more of them in the future but I hope so!

They'll probably all be one-day festivals though because the thought of camping out in the dirt
for nights on end doesn't really appeal to me!

It's official, I'm graduating!

What's next I hear you ask? Well, I'm not 100% sure yet.

I've applied to a study which is quite selective. I won't find out unitll july 15th whether or not I've been accepted. So, unnerving times at the moment. I'm trying to find alternative ways to spend my time next year for if the worst case scenario becomes reality. But, at the same time, I'm trying not to think about it too much and to enjoy the moment.

I'll let you know how it all turns out. But for now all I'm thinking about is tomorrow.

I'll be off to 'parkpop' , a big free festival in the Hague. Can't wait!

DIY: Karma necklace

I have always loved the idea of a karma necklace but I wanted a longer version, so I decided to make one myself. It's really easy to do and doesn't take very long!

What do you need:
- pliers

- a 30 inch chain

- two jump rings

- a clasp

- a small hoop (which you could snatch off an old bag like I did)

What do you do:
Take the 30 inch chain and cut it into two separate pieces. On one end of these chains you place the clasp that will connect it to the other piece of chain.
You're then left with two open ends.
Open the two jump rings and connect one on each of the open ends of the necklace. Remember not
to close the jump rings yet because you first need to connect them to the hoop.
After everything is connected, you close the jump rings with the pliers, and you've got yourself a karma necklace!

(I hope everything is clear, this is my first DIY post!)

Finally!

I have completed all of my exams! I'm graduating!

And I have no words to describe it. It feels like a weight has been lifted off of me or something. But I still don't feel relaxed. I keep having this gnawing feeling that I still have some work to do; a test to study for, a report to finish, stuff like that.

But it feels like time is my own again and that means blogging more, reading the pile of books that have been accumulating, and finally trying out some interesting diy's like this one..

I came across this great site on www.misslipgloss.nl and just had to post something about it! The website sells 7 different watches which represent 7 different causes. (A large part of) the money that each sale makes will go to the specific charity that goes with the watch.

I think it's a really great way of raising money for charity because a watch is something you can wear everyday so lots of people will be able to see it and perhaps find out about the initiative.

The watches cost €39/$50.

I'm going to buy one asap!

When a new fashion season is about to start I always check out Viktor & Rolf's collection. Everytime this Dutch duo has a collection showing on the runway, you better believe it's going to be a hell of a show.

For the coming season(ss 2011) they prove it again with a collection of predominantly white,black,blue and red voluminous pieces. But,I have to say that somehow I find this collection a bit more 'mellow' than compared to what they've created for past seasons. But nonetheless I think it's absolutely gorgeous. I love all the white, the layers, and the use of different textures.

For ages there has been a debate going on about who the red headed woman in the painting is. Reportedly it's a model who went by the name Red Hilda. But others say that it's Klimt's longtime girlfriend Emilie Flöge.

Nothing like a little mystery to make a painting that much more interesting.

The Anonymity of Blogging

Recently one of my fellow students at school started a blog and put the link in his msn screen name. I couldn't help but think about how brave I thought that was. And how weird it is that I don't think I could ever do that. Somehow I feel like if people from my shool knew about my blog it would be more public than blogging for the rest of the world to see. Why is that? Maybe it's because I will feel too exposed. Or maybe because I'm afraid I will be judged or something. Or maybe I just like having something like this to myself. I don't know.

What do you think? Should I post my blog in my screen name? For everyone I know to see? And do all of your friends&family know about your blog?

After going through many Etsy shops over the past two years, I thought I could show some of my favourites every Monday!

This time: Jewellery by Jealousydesign!

Jealousydesign creates everything, from earings, to necklaces, shawlpins and hairpins!

"I make my jewelry and findings with the phrase: everything has its own time. I want my work to be as perfect as it possibly can." says the shopowner. Her shop is filled with "Contemporary handmade sterling silver jewelry made with raw stones directly from nature."

And aren't those natural stones lovely?

1.If you had the chance to steel someone's personality for a day,whose would it be?Nooo idea.

2.Are you a spender or a saver?
Spender, but I have been saving a bit of money for college lately.

3.If loving fashion,buying loads of cloats and having one-day trips around the shops is ilness,are you ill?Deadly sick.

4.What were the three happiest moments in your life so far?Getting an insulin pump(I'm a diabetic) which has made life easier, it's been bittersweet though.
Finally being able to go back to school after being sick for about 2 months and catching up with everything in time to be able to complete the year (a few years ago).
Going on trips/vacations with family&friends:)

5.Which blog would you recommend me to visit?Vanillascented, she is so effortlessly cool and has an amazing, unique style. Follow her blog and you will never be bored.

6.What's your longest phone conversation?About 2/ 2,5 hours.

7.Why did you decided to creat a blog?I thought it would be a great way of saving websites, images and everything else I love and that inspires me. And I thought it would be a great way to get to know more about fashion:).

Her work is divided into 3 categories on her website(Portraits, Fashion Shows, Streetstyle) , but from what I've seen there is a world of variety within those 3. Here are my answers!

1. If you could be a sea creature, what would you chose to be and why?

The first thing that came to my mind was a seahorse, I think they are so interestingly strange.

2. If you could throw a fancy dinner for five famous people who would that be? You can also chose someone who's already dead, because that's always more fun with dead people. Like, for instance, Julius Ceasar. Or Cleopatra. You know what I mean.
Hmmm, this is a tough one. I think the guests would be: Kurt Schwitters, Miuccia Prada, Alber Elbaz, Marc Jacobs and Oscar Wilde.

3. What's your most valuable possession?
Not in terms of money value but I think my vintage necklace that dates from the eary 1900's, it's very special to me.

4. How would you define your personal style? Is it influenced by someone, some trend, or not at all?
A mic of chic, boho, casual, and tough? I don't know, you'll have to stick around to find out I guess!

5. If you could chose to be a villain from a movie, book, comic book, etc, who would that be?
Scarlet Witch, who wouldn't want to be able to alternate reality?

6. What is happiness to you? Does it even exist?
I think happiness exists but that's it has different meanings to everyone. Happiness to me is being in a state of calmness in which everything and everyone is interacting in harmony.

7. When you waste time - because we all do that - what do you waste your time on? I don't know if I would call it wasting time but I like just looking outside of the window, or into my garden for a few minutes and just enjoy the sense of calm that I get from it.

8. Imagine you're given the opportunity to be one of The Beatles for one day - which one of them would you want to be?!
